4 Page Letter…

handwritten letters

swag.

Email is great, they are fast and convenient and all that jazz. But handwritten letters nowadays is a refreshing form of communication.  Nothing says I thought about you longer than five minutes like  good old fashioned snail mail letters.   I have felt the spirit of the art of letter writing after being an on and off again penpal with my good buddy Brandelyn for about past year.  The funny thing is I talk to Bee everyday online.  We even talk about sending each other letters and cards.  Yet, this still doesn’t take away the glee when the mailman delivers pure sunshine in an envelope.  Yes, my friends are so awesome that they put actual sunbeams in the mail.  Be jealous, I’d be too.

Penpal equation letters

How you love that math?

I love sending letters and cards, even if I get nothing back.  Even though reciprocity is greatly appeciated.  If you’d like to be my penpal contact me and we can surely make that happen!  Or jsut send a letter to someone you love to brigthen their day, everyone loves to get mail besides bills every now and then!  I might even send Cheekie a letter, written in big print and crayon of course so it will be on her level.  Just saying.

Do you have a penpal?  Do you send out handwritten letters?

    -_-

Ok, I’m over it. Please do! That would bring beaucoups amounts of joy. :)

But yeah, I used to have a penpal that lived in Philly (yes, I wonder if she knew Fresh Prince). I did it through the American Girl Club thing and I used to send her letters using my fancy new typewriter I had gotten for Christmas. There is a lost art in getting actual letters due to email and such so yeah, it DOES feel special when you get snail mail.

But, to be clear, don’t send me any mail with snails inside. I have wood floors and that can get slippery. Thanks.

I think sending and receiving letter are more exiting rather than email. This could boost your adrenaline.

I write to soldiers all the time. Send them cards and letters. Sometimes they write back, sometimes not, but every time I get a response, they say that those handwritten ones mean the most, because they know how much more time and effort goes into them.

No, unfortunately. But just recently, I received a letter from my husband, sent to my office. Said it was urgent. No return address just the word Urgent. When I opened it, it was a childish drawing of to stick figure holding hands, and a drawing of the sun with the word LOVE. drawn using crayon. At the back, there was his name and a really sweet letter. Made my whole day at work really fun. I found out later on, he got the idea from an e book he downloaded..

[...] Handwriting has been on my mind, lately. Alise of the Naturally Alises recently wrote a post about the lost art of handwriting and it was dope. Really it was, check it out here. [...]
