smile for me…

you make me smile…
and you love when i smile…
and i smile because you love it…
how about that for a vicious cycle?


Well as you can see from my short and sweet poem above, making other people smile makes smile… here are some other things that make me smile….

If you took me for sushi on a first date I promise you would get a second! #fact

Sushi definitely makes me smile.  Once I ate it everyday for a whole week.  Guess what….  I smiled each of those days, run tell that!

Visit my penpal Brandelyn's website.... she is AWESOME!

Hand written letters make my entire soul do an intricate happy line dance and instructional song…  this is not your mama’s Cha-Cha slide.  There is nothing more satisfying than going to the mailbox and seeing something that is not a bill.  I have a new penpal, Brandelyn, who is one of my online best-buds.  The funny thing is we tweet each other to say we have sent a letter.  *side-eye to us for that*

Paul Mooney’s stand-up feature “Analyzing White America” is one of the funniest things I have ever watched in life.  Not exaggerating.  Paul’s candid, in your face delivery is comic gold.  This is why he is a legend.  This is why this makes me smile. (I have seen this over 100 times, don’t judge me…)

Best microphone EVER!

Hairbrush microphone songs always make me smile!  What is a hairbrush microphone song?  Funny you should ask.   They are the most diva ballads sung by super incredible singers that dramatic people like myself must sing loudly and act out the song and make up silly ad-libs.  Good times.    Here is my favorite hairbrush son of all time, Love Under New Management by Miki Howard.  If you ever get the opportunity to see me perform this you will laugh until you literally die.  Yep, death.  Death, however, does not make me smile.  Other songs include Mariah Carey, Alanis Morrisette, Whitney Houston, Jill Scott, or  Rachelle Ferrelle’s entire catalogs.
